Who We Are

We believe we have the best coaching staff in the Hilton Head Island area.  Our highly-qualified coaches are dedicated to you each and every class they lead.  We understand your goals - we've been there and we've coached members through every imaginable fitness hurdle.  From the smallest (but not always the easiest hurdle) to the seemingly impossible, we're here to help and guide you through your personal fitness journey.

  • Whitney Rolf

    Whitney is passionate about leading an active lifestyle and setting a good example for others. She specializes in endurance training and to date, has completed four Ironman Triathlons. She talks a big game and can back it up. Whitney believes CrossFit is the best way to improve both strength and stamina. As a coach, she pushes her clients to reach their fullest potential. Instead of focusing on short-term gains, she strives for long-term success.

  • John O’Toole

    Co-Owner, Coach

    “Coaching is taking something you love and sharing the passion with others! Coaching is turning “I can’t” into “I’ll try” and delighting the elation of “I can”.”  John has an enthusiasm for coaching that is clear in the sentiments of his own words. He loves seeing his athletes progress physically but the mental transformation that drives progress is what he truly appreciates. He knows that taking ownership and control of what the body is truly capable of achieving is not easy, as he himself was reluctantly introduced to CrossFit, believing he was fit based on his athletic background. A month after his first class, he obtained his CrossFit Level 1 and continues to become more educated in helping others realize true fitness and health.

    John is analytical by nature so when you think he’s quietly staring off into space or consumed in deep thoughts, he’s really plotting how to help you improve your technique!

  • Meg Herman

    Co-Owner, Coach

    Meg is a distance runner at heart, having completed 10 marathons including the Boston Marathon where she achieved her PR. But when she found CrossFit, she found fitness that would help her live her best life and help her become stronger, more durable runner. She recognized that CrossFit teaches people how to move and express their true physical nature, and now her purpose as a coach is to introduce you to the program that will optimize your health so that you can express your newfound fitness in everyday life doing what you love most.

    Meg does just that in her own life; she’s a outdoor sport junkie! She invites you to run, bike, swim, climb, hike – whatever suits your fancy, as long as it’s outside!

  • Ray Goyochea

    Coach

    Ray grew up active, having played recreational soccer from a young age. But until he found CrossFit, Ray didn’t realize how fit and healthy he could be. In less than a year, Ray put on 20 pounds of muscle and an appreciation for proper form and technique. A minor injury opened his eyes to the importance of learning the basics and developing a solid foundation. Ray is now passionate about coaching members through a progression of proper movement mechanics and technique, to help them learn from his experience.

  • Jen Chaurie

    Coach

    Jen is an outdoors and endurance specialist. She loves competing in triathalons and spent a lot of her life before CrossFit running, and running some more. When she found CrossFit, she found she had a great endurance base and strong legs, but lacking in upper body strength. Jen put in the work to become a more well-rounded athlete. She is ecstatic in having stepped outside of her(endurance) comfort zone and tried something new in CrossFit. Her passion is in encouraging others to step outside their box, “…minds opened to all of life’s possibilities after seeing what they can achieve in our little corner of the world.”

  • Mark Finger

    Coach

    Mark is a Hilton Head native who considers all members of RC3 personal friends. He is the definition of a “people person” – the camaraderie and friendly competition is what drew him to CrossFit. The whole RC3 community loves to watch Mark perform the Olympic Lifts with precision. Even more extraordinary is that he has a distinct gift of teaching anyone these movements (even those who shy away from “weights”).

    Having a background in golf and football, Mark loves that CrossFit develops both power and speed, among other desirable qualities for sports and in life.

  • Mollie Kinard

    Mobility, Yoga Coach

    Mollie is a certified yoga instructor who loves to help her students learn to slow down and tune into their physical, mental and spiritual selves. Outside of RC3, Mollie is a doula – she loves bellies and babies!

  • Jose Lopez

    Coach

    Jose joins the RC3 team with a background in soccer and has played as long as he can remember. He has coached the kid’s program at the Island Recreation Center. Jose also has 4 years of kickboxing experience.

    Having had an active and athletic lifestyle, he came into CrossFit skeptical but the atmosphere and the community won him over and the RC3 coaches’ passion gave him to the push to follow in their footsteps.
